Continuously Monitor Your Data.
Data Capture is a fully automated function that is designed to continuously monitor the raw material (data) of OneView360°, whether the data is being pushed to or pulled from various sources for processing. The module provides a centralized directory of all OneView360° data sources as well as an automated processing engine for the handling of all inbound data.
Once new data is detected in the system, it is automatically identified, logged, archived, decompressed, decrypted, validated and immediately sent off for standardization and enhancement.
The Data Capture automated processing engine handles many functions for all inbound OneView360° data files such as:
- Real-time collection
- Scheduled retrieval
- Validation
- Decryption
- Decompression
- Logging
- Archiving
- Routing
Through the use of file profiles, each singular data source can be handled in a specific way. Information is maintained for each singular data source with the creation and update of file profiles. Key information maintained includes:
- Data source name (mask)
- Passwords and keys for decryption
- Decompression methods
- Expected schedule for push data
- Trigger schedule for pull data
- File level validations
- Tolerances for size and duplication
While the capabilities of Data Capture are comprehensive, file handling exceptions will occur, and OneView360° is designed with that in mind. Using this framework, Data Capture-specific exceptions are available for the handling of:
- Unrecognized data
- Duplicate check violation
- Schedule violations
- File size validation failure
Data Capture supports the visibility essential in a highly automated environment. OneView360° has implemented real-time visibility to key metrics to support efficient operations. Data Capture metrics include:
- Number of data files received by day
- Number of open exceptions
- Age of open exceptions
